Frequently Asked Questions FAQ’s
Teamforce Paintball & Activity Centre Frequently Asked Questions
These are some of the most common questions but if you have any others then please feel free to get in touch by phone or email.
- 1. Is paintball safe to play?
- a. Yes - Paintball has an excellent safety record, but like many adventure sports there are risks. We are a Visit Wales Tourism Accredited Centre and members of the UK Paintball Sports Federation and we operate to strict guidelines to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
- 2. Does it hurt when you are hit by a paintball?
- a. Paintballs travel at approximately 280 feet per second so they can cause bruising or even on very rare occasions break the skin if it is uncovered. We recommend layered clothing is worn underneath the overalls that we supply to provide added protection. We also provide full head protection helmets and integral goggles to ensure that the most vulnerable areas are well protected.
- 3. How old do you have to be to play?
- a. All players must be 11 years old on the day of play. The major insurance companies do not normally insure for paintball for anyone under this age. In our opinion this age is the earliest age that anyone should play paintball. All players under 16 years of age must have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian to play. Without exception we will not allow anyone under 16 years old to play without a correctly completed and signed registration form.
- 4. Do adults (over 16’s) need to complete a registration form?
- a. Yes all players must complete a registration before they play.
- 5. Can I just turn up on any day to play?
- a. No - All customers need to book and pay for their chosen paintball package at least 48 hours prior to playing so booking is strongly recommended. This allows us to prepare enough equipment and staff for the day.
- 6. What are the start times?
- a. We have 2 start times at 0915 hours or 1230 hours. We do not normally accept bookings outside these times. By having 2 set start times this allows us to structure the day so you get as many paintball games as possible. This is normally 3 games in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.
- 7. What if I can’t make these times?
- a. We do our best to accommodate every group and can sometimes have different start times, but we cannot guarantee this. Please ask and we will do our best to help.
- 8. How do the games work?
- a. We normally play 1 game with 2 sessions in each of our zones. This way each team gets the chance to play both parts of the mission scenario. For example in the Castle zone, 1 team will attack the castle to complete the mission and the other team will defend it to stop them. Both teams then swap over.
- 9. Can my group play on our own?
- a. The Centre Manager normally splits the groups up into equal teams who then play against each other in the zones. This tends to work best in our experience, as it provides those people in smaller groups with lots more targets to shoot at! If you want to play on your own this can be arranged but there might be an additional cost to cover staff wages for marshals allocated specifically to your group. Please ask and we will be happy to help.
- 10. Can we bring our own paintball equipment?
- a. Possibly, but you will need to sign one of our “Players Own Equipment Liability” forms and we will only allow you to use it if we decide it is safe and fit for purpose. All marker guns must be chronographed to check they are firing at the industry recommended speed. (280 feet per second). Please ask if you are unsure.
- 11. Can we bring our own paintballs?
- a. No - For Health and Safety reasons all our paintballs are industry approved, stored at the correct temperatures and meet the required manufacturing standards for bio-degradable paintballs. Any player caught using their own paintballs will be removed from site.
- 12. Can we drink alcohol on site?
- a. We do not allow players to mix alcohol and paintball for safety reasons so alcohol is not normally allowed on site. If you have a special occasion we may at our discretion allow you to consume alcohol once you have finished playing. We will not let anybody play if we think they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The Centre Manager will have the final decision.
- 13. Will I get a refund if some of my group don‘t turn up?
- a. We have to prepare equipment and pay staff for the numbers that have booked and paid to play with us so payments are non-refundable.
- 14. Can we get the paintballs for the members of our group who do not turn up?
- a. No - the payments for each player cover our costs of preparing equipment and staff for the day, so paintballs are not transferable.
- 15. How many players do I need in my group?
- a. We normally require a minimum of 20 players to open our centre for a paintball game day. This means 20 players in total and not just from one group. Paintball is a lot more fun when there are more targets to shoot at so we normally play in teams of 15 v 15.
- 16. How many players can play at your centre?
- a. We can cater for up to 140 players per day. We regularly get large groups from schools, colleges and businesses so if you have a large group you are most welcome to play.
- 17. What discounts or incentives do you offer for groups or group
organisers?
- a. We have a range of special offers and organiser incentives throughout the year, so either check our website or give us a call to find out more. The bigger the group you organise the better the incentive!
- 18. What days are you open?
- a. We are open all year round subject to minimum booking numbers.
- 19. What happens if it is raining or the weather is bad?
- a. Skin is waterproof! In our experience we find that our customers love running around the woods in the rain and the mud as well as in the sunshine so we can and do play in all but extreme weather conditions. Please check with us if the weather forecast is adverse.
- 20. Do you cater for corporate groups?
- a. We regularly cater for large corporate groups such as BSKYB, Admiral Insurance, HSBC the Ospreys etc so we can assure you of a well organised corporate day, whether for paintball or any of our other training services.
- 21. How much does it cost to play paintball?
- a. This will depend on how fast you pull the trigger! As a rough guide each player could fire anything between 300 to 3000 paintballs in a day. It really depends on if you want to be ‘Rambo’ for the day or not. The more paintballs you shoot the more it will cost, but we do have special deals for buying in bulk so the bigger your group the cheaper the day will be.
